Navy Vet wins 100-percent and years of back pay.
Robert Drury served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1983. The Florida veteran had to fight the VA for years to win compensation from complications that resulted from a knee replacement, including vision loss from a rare condition called Anterior Ischemic Optic Nueropathy (NAION). Even though vision loss is not normally associated with a knee issue, Brown & Curry obtained the medical evidence necessary to tie Mr. Drury's NAION event to the hypotension he suffered when the VA prescribed him antibiotics during a total knee replacement. The antibiotics causes what is known as "Red Man" syndrome. Brown & Curry successfully won service connection for Mr. Drury in excess of an 100-percent rating from the VA. We salute Mr. Drury. You can see a photo of him with his guide dog Nelson below.
